Frozen Four Contest - Down to the Championship Game
Well, the long trip has finally come to down the final 2 teams for the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship, and it will be the Fighting Sioux of North Dakota against the Pioneers of Denver University playing for all the marbles Saturday night.
If North Dakota wins, it will be one set of 3 people placing 1st , 2nd, and 3rd, and if Denver wins, it will be a completely different set of 3 people. For the Frozen Four Bracket and Contest, click HERE...
Saturday, April 2, 2005 NTXHL Playoffs...
PeeWee A - Alliance 1, Duncanville Dragons 5: After a late Friday night NTXHL Playoff game, the Bulldogs were back on the ice Saturday morning looking to "slay" those Dragons from Duncanville. The Dragons ended up winning the game but the final score was not indicative of the play by the Bulldogs. Read more HERE...
Friday, April 1, 2005 NTXHL Playoffs...
PeeWee A - Alliance 2, Texas Aces-White 3 (OT): The Bulldogs faced off against the Aces-White in their second playoff game of the NTXHL Playoffs in Duncanville Friday night, and like their first playoff game, this game would also go to overtime. The outcome would be different though, as the Aces would edge the Bulldogs in OT. Read more HERE...
It was a great season, but the run for a National Championship ended for the Alliance teams at the USA Hockey Nationals, as all 3 teams fall in their final pool games. The competition was extremely tough, and the Bulldogs made us proud, as they played each game close and were never out of it until the last day. Box scores, standings, and updates on other games can be seen via the USA Hockey links HERE...
Bantam AAA: Alliance - 0, New Jersey Rockets - 3: The Bulldogs hung tough, got a great goaltending performance, and made the Rockets earn every goal they got, but were not able to muster any offense themselves and bowed out of the USA Hockey National Championships Friday in Bensenville, Illinois. In a penalty filled contest that featured no less than 16 power plays, the Bulldogs held the Rockets to only 1 for 9 on the man advantage to keep it within reach. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AA: Alliance - 1, Brick Green - 3: The Bulldogs played well again today, but same as yesterday, they once again faced one of the top teams from the northeast part of the country at the USA Hockey National Championships in Richmond, Virginia. The Brick Green team from New Jersey gave the Bulldogs fits, but the Alliance defense and goaltending was up to the task, keeping it a 1-1 game until only 2:38 remained. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance - 3, New Jersey Devils - 4: Facing a very good team when they're playing well was the task at hand for the Bulldogs Friday at the USA Hockey National Championships, and they matched the Devils play for play until late in the game when New Jersey would score to take the win. The second 1-goal loss of the tournament for Alliance eliminated them and kept them from moving on to the Quarter-Final Round as they had hoped to do. Read more HERE...
Second day at the USA Hockey Nationals was better, as Alliance teams went 1-1-1 to stay in contention. The Alliance all-time playoff overtime record in National bound competition still remains undefeated, as 2 more games went to an extra period of play, with 1 win and 1 tie to extend the AYHA overtime record to 9-0-1. As previously stated, Alliance game reports can be seen here, but other game updates can be seen via the USA Hockey links HERE...
Bantam AAA: Alliance - 5, Long Island - 8: The Bulldogs fell behind early, and trailed 3-1 at the end of the 1st period, then 6-2 after 2 periods and could never get within striking range of the Royals in Game 2 of the USA Hockey National Championships in Bensenville, Illinois. The New York State Champions scored in the first minute of the game on a power play, got an even strength tally just a minute and a half later, then added a shorthanded goal for a 3-0 lead before the Dogs could get on the scoreboard. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AA: Alliance - 3, Bud Bakewell - 3 (OT): The Bulldogs played much better today, but they had to, as they were facing a team ranked #1 in one National Ranking, and very much one of the favorites coming into the USA Hockey National Championships in Richmond, Virginia.
Alliance was out-shot by a 2 to 1 margin, but they made the most of their chances to gain an overtime tie and remain in contention to advance with a win on Friday. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance - 6, Rochester - 5 (OT): In a battle of special teams, the Bulldogs came out ahead in this one, but had to go the extra time to get the OT win in Game 2 of the USA Hockey National Championships in Bensenville, Illinois. After being victimized themselves by the power play twice in the 1st period, Alliance would come up with 4 of their own man advantage goals, including the game winner just over 3 minutes into sudden death. Read more HERE...
U16AAA Girls: Dallas residents Dru Burns ('91, Alliance Bantam AA) and Cheyenne Bojeski (sister of Alliance Midget Major AA player Garan Bojeski) helped their team, the Colorado Select U16AAA Girls, to their 2nd victory in the USA Hockey National Championships in Centennial, Colorado. Cheyenne had 2 goals in their 4-1 win over the New Jersey Colonials. They come back on Friday against the Cal Selects in their final game of pool play.
Other Activities at the National Championships...
The main event is definitely the hockey, but there are a few other activities at the National Championships that also make it fun and help pass the time between the games.
The Alliance players once again sported their cowboy hats for the 2nd year in a row, in what will hopefully become a familiar site at future Opening Ceremonies.
Of course, no event like this would be complete without a huge meal for all the players and families, and this year in Richmond, Virginia it was a giant Bar-B-Que feast.
Tough 1st day at the USA Hockey Nationals, as all 3 Alliance teams fall in their respective Games. Alliance apologizes for the lack of information on Nationals the last couple of days, but we have had a problem accessing our web site. Please bear with us as we work through the problem. In the meantime, USA Hockey limits the amount of information we can post here, but does a great job posting information on their web sites. Updates can be seen via the USA Hockey links HERE...
Bantam AAA: Alliance - 2, California Wave - 7: The Bulldogs are the first Texas Bantam Tier I team to ever advance to the USA Hockey National Championships, but they found the going very rough in Game 1 against the Pacific District Champions from California. After the first 11 minutes, it was 1-1 and things looked OK, but then the Wave added 2 quick goals to take a 3-1 lead after one period, with more to come in the 2nd frame. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AA: Alliance - 4, Las Vegas - 5: You have to bring your game and then some to the USA Hockey National Championships, but the Bulldogs left theirs on the tarmac at DFW Airport in Dallas as they just played poorly in their Game 1 loss to the Outlaws, Pacific District Champions. The first 30 seconds of the game were a bad sign of things to come, as a misplayed puck behind the Alliance net led to an empty net goal and a 1-0 lead for Las Vegas less than a minute into the game. Alliance would continue to fight back each time the Outlaws took the lead, but were never able to go ahead themselves. Read more HERE...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance - 2, California Wave - 4: Facing a team ranked above you when you're ranked 5th in the Nation means you are in for a tough battle, and for the 3rd time this season, the Bulldogs were not able to keep up with the Wave in Game 1 of the USA Hockey National Championships in Bensenville, Illinois. After a scoreless 1st period, the Bulldogs looked like they might reverse their previous fortunes against the Wave as they took a 1-0 lead just 30 seconds into the 2nd period. Read more HERE...
Another Alliance connection to the National Championships...
The Boys on the teams above are not the only Alliance players participating in the USA Hockey National Championships, as Alliance Bantam AA Defenseman Dru Burns is playing for the Colorado Select U16AAA Girls team competing for the National Championship in Centennial, Colorado. Cheyenne Bojeski, sister of Alliance Midget Major AA player Garan Bojeski, is a forward on the team as well. Dru had an assist and Cheyenne had a goal in their 3-1 win over the Syracuse Stars in Game 1, and they come back on Thursday to play the New Jersey Colonials. Girls can win championships, too...
NTXHL Playoffs...
PeeWee A -
Alliance 3, Junior Stars 3: Let the Games
begin! Playoffs that is. Wednesday night in Euless the Bulldogs and
Jr. Stars met to claim their first "W" of the
NTXHL Playoffs. As
always, these two teams match up very evenly and this game outcome would
be no different.

Jr. Bulldog AA Development Program: Alliance is also pleased to introduce our new Junior Bulldog AA Development Program at the Squirt level. Alliance recognizes this as a critical age for beginning the proper development of the youth hockey player who has aspirations of competing at the higher levels when they get older.
With that in mind, we will have experienced Alliance coaches lead these teams in their development and competition throughout the season. Our Midget and Bantam Coaches will team together, 2 per Squirt AA team, to provide the coaching and training of these players in each practice and game during the season. We will field two (2) AA teams in this program:
Squirt AA - Team 95 Squirt AA - Team 96
2005-2006 Tryouts…
Tryouts for the 2005-2006 Teams indicated above will be held at Valley Ranch starting on Saturday, April 30th. We expect that each age group will skate twice per day the first 2 days, Saturday and Sunday. The number of players will be reduced following the last skate on Sunday, followed by additional sessions for the smaller groups Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
The exact schedule with times and age groups will be published in the next few days, and on-line registration will begin at that time.
Tryouts Start - Saturday April 30th Tryouts End - Wednesday May 4th Times and details to follow shortly…
2005-2006 Coaches…
Due to our enormous success at the Rocky Mountain District Championships - with our Bantam AAA, Midget Minor AA, and Midget Minor AAA teams continuing on to compete at the USA Hockey National Championships, and our PeeWee A team still competing in the NTXHL Playoffs, Alliance will not be announcing the 2005-2006 coaching staff until Friday April 8th.
After much discussion, we have decided to stay with our previous guideline of not naming a new coaching staff until the end of the current season. The announcement of the coaching staff for the 2005-2006 season will be in plenty of time for players and parents to make plans for the upcoming tryouts. We appreciate the interest in wanting to know this information as soon as possible, but we also want to keep Alliance coaches and players focused on the upcoming Championships.

Sunday, March 13, 2005 Update on District Championship Games...USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships
U16: Final in OT.......Midget Minor AAA - 3, Colorado Outlaws - 2: Another 3-2 OT win makes it 5 for 5 for Alliance in overtime games in the RMD Championships, and this was as dramatic as it gets in a Championship Game. Starting the extra period shorthanded for the first 30 seconds was even more gut wrenching than ending the 3rd period with 1:30 of penalty kill, but the Bulldogs quickly put an end to the suspense by scoring the game and Championship winner just 55 seconds into OT for the 3-2 victory. Read more HERE... Video of the Game Winner HERE... Tournament Photos HERE...
U14: Final Score.....Bantam AAA - 4, Colorado Thunderbirds - 2: The Bulldogs beat the Thunderbirds when it counted the most, and as a result, become the first Texas Bantam Tier I team to ever advance to the USA Hockey National Championships. Alliance knew coming in that it would be a tough game, based on their Game 1 5-3 loss to these same Thunderbirds, and came out strong by taking a 1-0 lead about halfway into the 1st period. Colorado came to play as well, and did not let the lead last very long as they tied it up at 1-1 just over a minute later with 7 minutes remaining in the period. Read more HERE... Tournament Photos HERE...
U16: Final Score.....Midget Minor AA - 3, Phoenix Firebirds - 2: These Bulldogs were tired and worn out from their extended efforts in the double overtime win in the Semi-Finals last night, and it showed. They also played the first 10 minutes without one forward, then lost another one for the game early in the first, and had another one take a slash on his bare hand for a broken thumb. But what showed the most was that Champions fight through adversity and find a way to win and that's what these Bulldogs are - CHAMPIONS! Read more HERE...
Other Tier II Championship Game: USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships
U18: Final Score.....Midget Major AA - 4, Colorado Springs Tigers - 7: The Bulldogs made it into the Championship Game undefeated at 4-0 for the tournament, but not without having paid a high price. Having played 3 overtime games in the last 3 days, the energy that they had was just not there today when they needed it, and Alliance falls in the Final to a very good Colorado Springs Tigers club they had defeated earlier in one of the 3-2 OT wins. The Bulldogs kept it within reach until the Tigers took a 5-3 lead late in the 2nd period, and when Colorado Springs scored again to make it 6-3 early in the 3rd, it was looking tough from that point on. The Bulldogs end an impressive run late in the season when they won 20 of their last 23 games and finished with an overall season record of 37-17-3.
Other Alliance Game...
PeeWee A
- Alliance 3, Duncanville
Dragons 7: The Bulldogs lose to the Dragons in
their last regular
NTXHL
season game Sunday in Duncanville. The first
period was all Dragons who jumped out early in the
game scoring 2 even strength goals, with the first
goal going in early at 14:18 left, the second at 6:27 left.
Saturday, March 12, 2005 Update from Regionals...USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships
Tier I Pool Games:
U14: Final Score.....Bantam AAA - 5, Phoenix Firebirds - 2: This was an elimination game, and early on, the Firebirds showed they came to play. But after falling behind 1-0 early, the Bulldogs rallied to get the win and advance to the Championship Game on Sunday morning at 10:15 AM MST against the Colorado Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds rallied themselves to beat the 'Dogs 5-3 in Game 1 of the tournament, but Alliance knows they can play with the boys from Colorado and plan to make the Final a game to remember.
U16: Final Score.....Midget Minor AAA - 4, Phoenix Firebirds - 5: In a game that was meaningless in the determination of the Sunday finalists, the Bulldogs lost their passion as they let the lead slip away and dropped their final game of Pool play. The lead changed hands 4 times as each team would take the lead and then lose it shortly thereafter. With Alliance holding a 4-3 lead in the 3rd period, the Firebirds scored twice to re-take the lead and held on for the win. The Bulldogs knew coming into the game that they had already secured a spot in the Championship game against the Colorado Outlaws on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM MST.
Tier II Semi-Finals:
U14: Final Score.....Bantam AA - 1, Chandler Polar Bears - 5 (Semi-Finals): The Bulldogs found themselves behind early and spent the rest of the game trying to play catch-up, but to no avail as they bow out of the RMD Championships in the Semi-Finals late Saturday night. Falling behind 2-0 after the 1st period and then 4-0 after the 2nd, the 'Dogs were never able to muster the game they had against the Polar Bears earlier in the day. They end a great season with an impressive 33-19-6 record.
U16: Final in 2OT....Midget Minor AA - 2, Arapahoe Warriors - 1 (Semi-Finals): In the 3rd Alliance overtime game of the week, this one was for elimination and thinking about next year for the team pulling the puck out of their net, and boy did they play like it. Fortunately, the Alliance boys were the ones celebrating after this game that lasted close to 70 minutes, including almost 17 of those minutes being of the sudden-death double overtime variety. The game winner was typical of the way the game was played throughout - tough defense, going hard to the net, and paying the price for an opportunity to score. Read more HERE...
U18: Final in OT......Midget Major AA - 3, Montana - 2 (Semi-Finals): The Majors were not about to be out-done by the Minors, so they went to overtime for the 3rd time themselves in this tournament, and same song, 3rd verse as they won again 3-2 in OT and advance to the Championship Game on Sunday morning at 10:30 AM MST against the winner of the Colorado Springs-Polar Bears game still under way. Read more HERE...
Tier II Pool Games:
U14: Final Score.....Bantam AA - 3, Chandler Polar Bears - 0: The Bulldogs played their best game of the tournament thus far, and the shutout win earned them a spot in the Semi-Finals against these same Jr. Polar Bears later tonight. Tight defense, good goaltending, and timely scoring was the order of the day in this victory over the host team.
U16: Final Score.....Midget Minor AA - 2, Arapahoe Warriors - 4: Turnovers and missed opportunities were the downfall of the Bulldogs in this final pool game to determine the #1 Seed going into the Semi-Finals. Early in the game with the score tied, Alliance had a major chance slip through their fingers when they went scoreless on a 5-minute power play due to a spearing major called on the Warriors. Read more HERE...
U18: Final in OT......Midget Major AA - 3, Colorado Springs Tigers - 2: In another exciting finish, the Bulldogs pulled another overtime win out of their hats in this come-from-behind victory. After a scoreless 1st period, Colorado took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd on goals just over a minute apart about halfway through the frame. Alliance responded late in the period, scoring their goals 2 minutes apart, with the game tying goal coming with only 1:55 remaining in the period. Read more HERE...
Friday, March 11, 2005 Update from Regionals...USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships
Tier I Games:
U14: Did Not Play Bantam AAA
U16: Final Score....Midget Minor AAA - 5, CO Outlaws - 4: It starting out looking like it might not be another barn-burner for the Bulldogs, but the Outlaws refused to oblige and turned it into a close one at the end. Alliance jumped out to leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in the 1st period, and then extended their margin to 5-1 later in the game, but the boys from Colorado never quit. The Outlaws scored 2 goals in the 3rd to make it another tight one, but the Bulldogs buckled down for the win.
Tier II Games:
U14: Final Score....Bantam AA - 0, VOSHA Mustangs - 5: By all definitions, a Mustang is bigger and faster than a Bulldog, and today that rang true, as the team from the Valley of the Sun raced past the overmatched Bulldogs. Using their size and speed, the Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and cruised to the win in Game 2. VOSHA has now scored 15 goals and allowed none in their 2 games in the tournament. The Bulldogs come back against the Host Jr. Polar Bears on Saturday for a chance to earn a semi-final berth.
U16: Final Score....Midget Minor AA - 3, Billings Jr. Bulls - 2: For the second time during the tournament, the Bulldogs allowed the game to stay close while still controlling the game and outplaying the opponent. Out-shooting the Bulls 28 to 18 in the first 2 periods led to a 3-2 lead, with another apparent goal disallowed due to a crease violation. After a significant delay in the 3rd period due to an injured Billings player, the Bulldogs held on despite being on the penalty kill for the final 4 minutes, of which the last 20 seconds were 3 on 6 with an empty net.
U18: Final Score....Midget Major AA - 9, Houston Hitmen - 1: Maybe they just got tired of each other, but the Bulldogs got the momentum and never let the Hitmen have it back in the 11th meeting of the season between these 2 teams from Texas. The scoring was spread out among the Bulldog players and the game, as Alliance scored 3 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, and 2 in the 3rd. Houston scored with less than 2 minutes remaining to ruin the shutout bid.
Thursday, March 10, 2005 Update from Regionals...USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships
Tier I Games:
U14: Final Score.... Bantam AAA - 3, CO Thunderbirds - 5: The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period and looked like they might start the tournament with a strong win against the local boys. After Colorado made it a 2-1 game, Alliance appeared to have scored to make it a 2-goal margin again at 3-1, but the goal was disallowed due to a dislodged net. Read more HERE...
U16: Final Score.... Midget Minor AAA - 6, CO Thunderbirds - 5: This one was definitely the wildest one of the day, with the lead changing hands 5 times and the scored being tied 4 different times. The Bulldogs trailed at 1-0 at the end of the 1st period, but took leads of 2-1 and 3-2 before being tied up again at 3-3 at the end of 2 periods of play. Read more HERE...
Tier II Games:
U14: Final Score.... Bantam AA - 12, Utah Grizzlies - 2: The Bulldogs scored early and often in this Game 1 win over the Utah State Champions. Alliance used their speed and quickness to pepper the Grizzlie goalie with shot after shot and won going away. The Bulldogs will return on Friday to face the tough VOSHA Mustangs of Phoenix in Game 2.
U16: Final Score.... Midget Minor AA - 4, Phoenix Firebirds - 2: Facing the Firebirds for the 3rd time this season, it was again a tight one on the scoreboard, but the Bulldogs controlled most of the game with the exception of the early part of the 3rd period. Alliance took leads of 1-0 after the 1st period, and 2-0 at the end of the 2nd period, while out-shooting Phoenix 24 to 13 through 2 periods. Read more HERE...
U18: Final In OT.... Midget Major AA - 3, Utah Wildcats - 2: In another wild one that rivaled the Midget Minor AAA game, the Bulldogs couldn't get enough hockey in regulation and went to the extra period to get an exciting win over a good Utah team. After trailing the Wildcats 1-0 early in the game, the Bulldogs rallied to take the lead at 2-1, only to have Utah return the favor late for a 2-2 tie at the end of 3 periods. Read more HERE...

Alliance PeeWee AA Wins Texoma Championship!!!
PeeWee AA – Alliance 4, Hitmen 3: The Bulldogs did not want to let the season slip away without a Championship banner, and they went out and got themselves one in this win in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Sunday morning.
After spotting the Hitmen a 1-0 lead on a power play goal just over 3 minutes into the game, the Bulldogs scored 4 unanswered goals and hung on for the win and the title of PeeWee AA Champions. Read more here...
PeeWee AA – Alliance 2, Lafayette 0: The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead in Game 3, and then relied on tough defense and good goaltending to earn a spot in the in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Sunday morning. Despite intense efforts by both teams, the goalies were denying everything during the final 2 frames, as Alliance gained the shutout victory.
Alliance Bantam AA & Midget Major AA Teams Fall in Texoma Championship Games
Bantam AA: Wild 4, Alliance 2: The Bulldogs could not repeat their victory in Game 1, and fell to the boys from Houston in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Oklahoma City on Sunday morning. In trying to get another banner to go along with their State Championship, the Bulldogs went 3 and 0 on the weekend before falling in the finals. Alliance had the lead twice in the game, once at 1-0, and then again at 2-1 early in the 3rd period, but the Wild would turn it up a notch, and get the game winner with just over 6 minutes remaining in the game. They would add an empty netter for the final 2-goal margin. The Bulldogs won't be thinking about this one for long, as they hit the road on Wednesday for the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships in Phoenix, Arizona March 10th through 13th.
Midget Major AA – Hitmen 4, Alliance 2: In another tough game between these 2 regular combatants, the Hitmen came out on top this time in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Sunday afternoon. Even though they have now played 10 times and split the State Championship and Texoma Championship between them, it still may not be the last time they play each other, as both teams are headed to the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championships in Phoenix, Arizona March 10th through 13th. This one was once again a back and forth contest, with every inch of space and second of time severely contested. Read more here...
Midget Major AA – Alliance 4, Wild 0: The Bulldogs rolled to their 3rd straight win on the weekend in Game 3, and earned a berth in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Sunday morning. It was a tight one from the start, with the Bulldogs taking a 1-0 lead in the 1st period, but the score remained that way until 13:22 of the 3rd period. A key moment came with just over 6 minutes left in the 2nd period, when with the score still 1-0, Alliance faced a 3 on 5 penalty kill for 1:15. The boys took care of business, and then added 3 goals in the 3rd for the win.
Alliance Squirt A Season Ends in NTXHL Playoffs
Squirt A - Stars 5, Alliance 1: The Bulldogs came in with high hopes for their final game of the season, but could not make them pay off in Game 4 of the NTXHL Playoffs in Farmers Branch on Sunday morning. The Alliance boys finished the season with 2 strong games in the opening rounds of the NTXHL Playoffs and hope to remember those efforts as they begin their off-season and planning for next year.
Squirt A - Ice Jets 7, Alliance 2: The Ice Jets came loaded and were too much for the Bulldogs to handle in Game 3 of the NTXHL Playoffs in Farmers Branch on Saturday night. Hoping to ride some of the momentum from their fine efforts against the top 2 teams in the league on Friday night and Saturday morning, the Bulldogs were unable to capture the momentum and fell out of contention with the loss. They hope to come back strong in their final game on Sunday morning against the Dallas Jr. Stars.

Squirt A - DMHA Titans 3, Alliance 2: There was very little rest for the Bulldogs as they got back in action early Saturday morning against the DMHA Titans in Game 2 of the NTXHL Playoffs in Farmers Branch. Both teams came to play in the second round and it was a great game of hockey for all those who were there. Both teams came out full force in the first period with no sign of fatigue from their first round games. The 1st period ended tied 0-0 in a very even matched period of hockey. Read more here...
PeeWee AA – Alliance 7, Hitmen 3: The Bulldogs decided to get the scoring going quickly in this game as they scored :24 seconds after the opening face off in Game 2 of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Saturday afternoon. After starting 30 minutes late due to lighting issues at the rink, Alliance left no doubt they are the team to beat this weekend, as the Regular Season Champs came out flying, and would get another goal late in the 1st period to go up 2-0 after one period. Read more here...
PeeWee AA – Alliance 3, Austin 2: Nothing like waiting to the last minute to catch fire, but that is what the Bulldogs did, literally, as they got the game tying and game winning goals in the final minute of play in Game 1 of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Saturday morning. The Roadrunners from Austin got on the scoreboard first with a goal midway thru the 1st period and led 1-0 after one period of play. Austin would score again with 12:23 remaining in the 2nd period to extend their lead to 2-0. Alliance battled back and scored a goal with 2:32 remaining in the second to close the score to 2-1 after two periods. Read more here...
Midget Major AA – Alliance 8, Tulsa 2: The Bulldogs showed no ill effects from their tough battle against the Hitmen earlier in the day, and took it to the Flames in Game 2 of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Saturday night. Alliance won their 10th game in a row, and got their 15th win in 16 games going into their Sunday morning matchup against the Houston Wild. The Wild are playing it tough this weekend, with a win over Tulsa earlier Saturday, and dropping a heartbreaker in the other late game when the Hitmen scored with only 9 seconds remaining to beat them 2-1. The puck drops at 9:00 am for Game 3.
Midget Major AA – Alliance 2, Hitmen 1: Facing the same opponent nine times in a season will sometimes bring complacency, but the Bulldogs would have none of it in this tightly played defensive affair in Game 1 of the Texoma Playoffs in Valley Ranch on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period and it looked like the initial frame would end that way. But Alliance would convert on the man advantage with only 5 seconds remaining in the 1st to take a 2-0 lead into the 2nd period of play. Read more here...

Squirt A - LS Wolves 2, Alliance 1: The Alliance Bulldogs faced off against the 1st Place Lone Star Wolves in the opening game of the NTXHL Playoffs in Farmers Branch Friday night. The Wolves came out to play and caught the Dogs on the heals of their skates. The Alliance opponent scored on a power play goal at 6:18 remaining in the 1st period to take the 1-0 lead. The first period was all Wolves but they were only able to come away with a 1-0 lead at the end of one. Read more here...

They will have 2 more games on Saturday, facing DMHA at 8:00 am, and then the Ice Jets at 7:15 pm. Their 4th game will be on Sunday at 8:00 am against the Jr. Stars, to determine the finalists for the Championship game at 2:30 pm.
The Texoma Playoffs are finishing up this weekend, with the PeeWee AA, Bantam AA, and Midget Major AA teams finishing their league play for the season and each defending Championships from 2004. PeeWee A - Alliance 1, Texas Aces-White 1: The scoring remained "Low" but the hockey was at a big time "High" for the Bulldogs Thursday night in this NTXHL contest at the PSA Center in Plano. Despite past game results, the Bulldogs had something to prove and that was to show the Aces they can match up against them just fine thank you. Tonight they proved it by being the aggressor and leaving everything on the ice. Read more here...

The Alliance Youth Hockey Association has not typically announced coaches for the next season until the conclusion of the current season. All Alliance teams are still playing, but we understand the desire for many people to know who will be a part of our coaching staff for next season. With this in mind, Alliance is planning to announce our coaching staff for the 2005-2006 Season on Thursday March 24, 2005. This will allow players and families to know who our coaches will be prior to our Spring Training Camp and Tryouts. We appreciate your interest in Alliance hockey.

Alliance Midget Minor AA Wins Texoma Championship!!!
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 5, Stars 0: The Bulldogs started a little slow, but got it going late in the 1st period and took it to the Stars from that point on for a win in the Championship Game of the Texoma Playoffs in Farmers Branch Sunday morning.
Taking a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period, the Bulldogs put the game away with 3 more goals in the 2nd frame, the back breaker being the shorthanded goal that gave them a 3-0 lead and took the wind out of the Stars' sails. More on this game to follow...
Bantam AAA - Eaglebrook 6, Alliance 1: In a rematch of their final preliminary game, the Bulldogs once again found themselves facing the bigger and older Eaglebrook Varsity in the Semi-Finals of the Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts Sunday morning. The outcome was a little worse this time, as the Bulldogs were not playing as well as they have recently, and it certainly would not do against a good team. The trip was a good one, though, as Alliance faced top AAA competition in preparation for the Tier I U14 Rocky Mountain District Championships in Colorado Springs March 9-13.

Squirt A - LS Wolves 6, Alliance 3: Dogs fall in their final Regular Season NTXHL game at Valley Ranch on Saturday morning. More on this game to follow...
PeeWee A - LS Wolves 2, Alliance 1: The Bulldogs played it tough and kept it a one-shot game, but the one shot belonged to the Wolves, as they scored on a deflected shot off a skate for the close win in this NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Saturday morning. The Wolves edged the Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs clearly won in the effort department. Read more here...
Bantam AAA - Eaglebrook 2, Alliance 1: Alliance played it close, but couldn't match the older and bigger Eaglebrook Varsity in Game 4 of the Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts Saturday morning. The Bulldogs were playing a team that is composed of almost all 89s, with 4 or 5 90s tossed in, and kept it close with good goaltending and tight defense. Despite their first loss of the tournament, the Bulldogs will more than likely be playing in the Semi-Finals on Sunday morning. Their schedule and opponent will not be determined until late Saturday, as there is a full complement of games yet to be played.
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 5, Houston Wild 3: The Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 after one period of play, but finally got on track to come back for 5 goals in the final 2 frames for the win in Game 2 of the Texoma Playoffs in Farmers Branch Saturday night. By virtue of their 2 and 0 record, and the same record for the Jr. Stars, they will play the Stars for the Championship Sunday morning at 10:30am. They were previously scheduled to face the Stars in Game 3 of the preliminary round early Sunday morning, but that game now has no meaning and has been canceled.
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 3, Ice Hawks 2: The Bulldogs found an opponent that came ready to play Saturday, and had to get the game winner with the scored tied at 2-2 in the 3rd period for a win in Game 1 of the Texoma Playoffs in Farmers Branch Saturday afternoon.
The Ice Hawks battled back from a 2-0 1st period deficit to tie the game with 2 goals of their own in the 2nd period, taking the Bulldogs into the 3rd period tied at 2-2. Alliance managed to regain the momentum in the 3rd frame, and found the net one more time to re-take the lead and hold on for the win.
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 4, Pikes Peak Major AAA 3: The Bulldogs faced their first U18AAA opponent of the season, as they went up against the Midget Major AAA Pikes Peak Miners late Saturday afternoon at the World Arena in Colorado Springs. Alliance came out looking pretty good, as they took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period and went on to hold the lead for a 4-3 win. The Bulldogs will face the Colorado Thunderbirds Minor AAA again on Sunday morning at the Air Force Academy before heading home to Texas.
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 2, Colorado 1: The Bulldogs went with a varied lineup in this one, as they will be facing the Thunderbirds again in 2 weeks at the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Colorado Springs March 9-13. Alliance took a 1-0 lead, only to have Colorado tie it up at 1-1 later, and then the game stayed that way until late in the 3rd period. With the game looking like it might end all tied up, the Bulldogs got the game winner with just over 3 minutes remaining and held on for the win. They will face the Midget Major AAA Pikes Peak Miners late Saturday afternoon, before ending the weekend against these same Thunderbirds Sunday morning.

Five Bulldogs teams are in action this weekend, and one of the bigger events is the Texoma Playoffs for the Midget Minor AA team in Farmers Branch. This will begin the quest of matching the 4 Texoma Championships won last year by Alliance. The Squirt A team returns home from a good run in Ontario for a NTXHL contest against the Lone Star Wolves in Valley Ranch at 9:30am. They will be followed up at 11:15am by the PeeWee A team, coming back from sunny San Diego with Silver Medals around their necks, to face the Lone Star Wolves as well, in PeeWee NTXHL play.
The Bantam AAA team is still in Deerfield, Massachusetts for the Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament, with their game on Saturday at 10:30am EST against the host team, followed up by Semi-Finals on Sunday. The Midget Minor AAA team, fresh off their State Championship series, will be in Colorado Springs for a 3-game Regional warm-up against the Colorado Thunderbirds and the Midget Major AAA Pikes Peak Miners.
Friday, February 25, 2005
Bantam AAA - Alliance 6, Long Island 1: Alliance went to work on the power play in this one, as the Gulls were intent on taking penalties in Game 3 of the Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts Friday morning. The Bulldogs refused to fall into the trap of that style of play, and made the Gulls pay by converting on the man advantages to take the win and go to 3 and 0 in the tournament. The Bulldogs will now face the Hosts, Eaglebrook Varsity, which carries some 89s on their roster due to the fact that Eaglebrook is a boarding school for boys in grades 6th though 9th. That game is scheduled for Saturday 10:30am EST.

Alliance Midget Minor AAA Wins Tier I U16AAA State Championship!!!
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 8, Dallas Storm 1: Game 2 went about the same as Game 1, except the Bulldogs started the scoring a little earlier and captured the Texas Tier I U16AAA State Championship with a 2-game sweep of the Dallas Storm Midget Minor AAA in Valley Ranch Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs now advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Colorado Springs March 9-13.
Once again, the Bulldog power play was very successful, as a 3 for 9 night on the man advantage kept the Storm chasing continually in their own end. The Bulldogs scored on their first shot of the game, a change-up that caught the goalie moving the opposite way as the puck slid slowly past the goal line on a whiffed shot attempt for a 1-0 lead at 11:08 of the 1st period. Approximately 4 minutes later, a loose puck was picked up by Alliance and shot through traffic in front of the Storm goal for a 2-0 lead that held to the end of the first period. Read more here...
Bantam AAA - Alliance 1, Top Gun 0: The Bulldogs got more good goaltending and rode their 1st period goal and 1-0 lead all the way to the end of Game 2 of the Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts late Thursday night. Top Gun, a feisty team from the Boston area that plays in the Eastern Hockey Federation, gave the Alliance team fits, but the tired Bulldogs battled through it to get the shutout that eluded them in Game 1, and go to 2 and 0 in the tournament.
Bantam AAA - Alliance 3, Connecticut 1: The Bulldogs got good goaltending and capitalized on their chances and came away with the win over the Lazers in Game 1 of the Annual Eaglebrook Varsity Hockey Tournament in Deerfield, Massachusetts Thursday morning. Alliance lost their chance at the shutout when the Lazers got one past the Bulldog netminder with only 28 seconds left in the game.
Wednesday, February 23, 2005
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 8, Dallas Storm 0: The Bulldogs began their quest for the State Championship slowly, but eventually got up to speed in the 2nd and 3rd periods and cruised to a win in Game 1 of a Best of 3 series against the Dallas Storm Midget Minor AAA in Valley Ranch Wednesday night. The Storm was playing without 5 of their regulars, but Alliance showed no mercy, as they scored almost every way you can and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Both teams got power play chances in the 1st period, but neither could capitalize, as the goalies came out ready to play from the start. The 1st period ended 0-0, but the Bulldogs still had 1:20 remaining on the man advantage to start the 2nd frame. It didn't take long, as a hard wrist shot from just below the right face-off dot found its way past the Storm goalie and just inside the post on the short side for a power play goal and a 1-0 lead for the Bulldogs at 16:10. Just over a minute later, Alliance struck again, this time on the other side and down low, as a rebound found its way back to the stick it came from and was sent back to the net true for the 2-0 edge. PeeWee A - LA Hockey Club 7, Alliance 1: The Alliance PeeWee A team knew going into the Gold Medal Game of the California State Games in San Diego that their opponent would be all they could handle and then some. The Bulldogs played it tight for almost the entire 1st period, but then the dam struck a leak as the LA Hockey Club scored 3 goals in the last 2 minutes of the period to take a 3-0 lead into the 2nd frame. Read more here...
A wrist shot from the point on a Dallas Storm power play in the 1st period was deflected by the shaft of a stick and into the Alliance net for a 1-0 lead that the Storm goalie made hold up for the rest of the game. Sixty-Two shots were directed at the 2 goalies in this contest, and all were denied except the one, as both teams had plenty of chances to score and were continually sent to the bench without satisfaction.
Alliance had at least 3 breakaway chances and the Storm had a couple of their own, only to see the puck sent harmlessly into the corner by a pad or a goalie stick. In a heated game between these 2 intense rivals, nothing was decided except that each team boasts good defense and quality net-minding.

Alliance Midget Major AA Wins CanAm Championship!!!
Midget Major AA: Alliance 4, Les Aigles 2: The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead into the 3rd period and cruised to the Championship of the Can/Am Tournament in Montreal on Sunday morning. This rematch of their first round game against the French Canadian "Eagles" ended the same way and by the same score. The Bulldogs went undefeated in the tournament and got their 30th win of the season in the Championship game. They return home to Texas to begin defense of their Texoma Championship from a year ago, starting next weekend in Houston.
Squirt A - Alliance 3, Cooksville 2: Game 3 of the Oak Ridge Classic Tournament for the Bulldogs was a classic Canadian hockey game. When the puck dropped, the Cooksville Phantoms came out hitting. The coaches looked at the refs and they said "Hey, it's hockey". The Bulldogs got the nod from their coaches and from then on all the Phantoms could say was "Who let the dogs out". Read more here...
PeeWee A - LA Hockey Club 5, Alliance 0: The LA Hockey Club is one of the top youth hockey programs in the west, and they proved it in Game 3 of the California State Games in San Diego Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs stayed in the game through 2 periods, allowing no goals in the 1st, and 3 in the second. The 3rd period was the Bulldogs' chance to make it a game, but the California team was just too much for them and the game ended with LAHC getting 2 more in the 3rd for the 5-0 win. The Bulldogs will get another chance at this team, though, as the result of other games allowed the Bulldogs to earn their way into the Gold Medal Championship game against the LA Hockey Club on Monday.
Midget Minor AA - Alliance 5, Detroit 1: The Bulldogs played a tight game for more than 2 periods, but eventually broke it open with 4 goals in the 3rd period against the Detroit Trackers in the Semi-Finals of the Dallas Storm U16 AAA Tournament in Plano Sunday night.
In the process, the Bulldogs became the first Alliance team to reach 40 wins this season, and advances to the Championship Game on Monday morning against the Dallas Storm for a rematch of their game earlier on Sunday, which the Storm won 4-2. Read more here...
Midget Minor AA - Storm AAA 4, Alliance 2: The Bulldogs fell behind early and were constantly chasing from behind against the Hosts in Game 3 of the Dallas Storm U16 AAA Tournament in Plano Sunday morning.
The Storm scored less than a minute into the game for a 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs would tie it up late in the 1st period to make it 1-1 going into the second frame. Read more here...
Squirt A - Alliance 3, Guelph Storm 1: The Bulldogs met new friends again on Saturday morning during Game 2 of the Oak Ridge Classic Tournament, the Guelph Storm from just west of Toronto.
Again the Bulldogs faced a strong opponent and the first period ended scoreless. The intensity carried over to the second period and the Storm got on the board first with a power play goal at 6:40 for the initial lead of 1-0. Read more here...
PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Pueblo 3: The Pueblo Panthers came out hot, scoring just 10 seconds into the 1st period, and then added to their lead with another tally just over a minute later to start with a 2-0 lead over Alliance in Game 2 of the California State Games in San Diego Saturday night. But Bulldogs never quit, and these Bulldogs were true to that nture and battled back to gain the tie. Read more here...
Midget Minor AA - Alliance 3, Detroit 0: The Bulldogs tried an unusual tact this game, coming out strong and taking an early lead for a change. Scoring 2 quick goals in the 1st period, it looked like it might be a big day for the Alliance scoring.
But the Trackers tightened up the defense and got good goaltending the rest of the way and the Bulldogs would tally just one more in the 2nd period of this win in Game 2 of the Dallas Storm U16 AAA Tournament in Plano Saturday afternoon. Read more here...
Midget Minor AA - Alliance 5, Atlanta 4: The Bulldogs took advantage of their power play opportunities and made the Atlanta Fire pay for their penalties by scoring 4 man advantage goals in Game 1 of the Dallas Storm U16 AAA Tournament in Plano Saturday morning.
In a penalty filled contest played at an intense level, the Bulldogs got plenty of work on the power play, as they went on the advantage 12 times, and 3 of their goals were of the 5 on 3 variety. As if 15 penalties and losing your coach for Game 2 wasn't enough bad taste for the visitors from Georgia, the 3rd period was reduced to only 7 minutes of time due to a 90 minute curfew. The first 2 periods were real Midget AAA hockey lasting 17 minutes each. Read more here...
Midget Major AA: Alliance 9, Arapahoe 0: The Bulldogs got even scoring throughout the game and cruised to their 4th straight win in the Can/Am Tournament in Montreal on Saturday afternoon. Alliance scored 4 goals in the 1st period, 3 in the 2nd, and 2 in the 3rd to gain their 14th shutout of the season in their first look at an American team while on this trip to Canada. Their victory earned them a spot in the Championship Game Sunday against Les Aigles, whom they defeated in their first game of the tournament by a score of 4-2.
Midget Major AA: Alliance 2, North London 1: The Bulldogs flirted with danger allowing the score to be only 2-0 throughout the game while controlling play, and then made it look closer by allowing a goal in the last minute, but still got the win in their 3rd game of the Can/Am Tournament on Saturday morning in Montreal. Alliance took a 2-0 lead in the 1st period, but couldn't solve the Nationals goaltender the rest of the way. The Bulldogs got good goaltending themselves when they needed it, and almost got the shutout.
Friday, February 18, 2005
The first period of hockey was like a first date, with the Texas team getting to know the Host Canadian team, the boys from Oak Ridge. The Dogs scored first at 3:36 on an even strength goal to take the early lead at 1-0. It did not take long for the host team from Oakridge to answer at 2:26 with an even strength goal of their own. Overall a good period of hockey as new friends got to know each other and the period ended tied 1-1. Read more here...
PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Phoenix 0: After a long flight and playing in unfamiliar territory, you would think the Bulldogs would not be sharp. These guys came ready to play, though, and posted a well earned shutout win over the Phoenix Firebirds in Game 1 of the California State Games in San Diego Friday afternoon. Alliance took a commanding 2-0 lead in the 1st period on an even strength goal at 8:50, and then added a power play tally just 2 minutes later. Read more here...
Midget Major AA: Alliance 9, Forest Hill 1: The Bulldogs came out flying in this one, scoring in each period and never letting the Canadian boys in the game, and coasted to their 2nd win in the Can/Am Tournament in Montreal on Friday afternoon. They will come back with 2 tough games on Saturday, as they face a top Ontario team in the North London Nationals, followed by another test against some Americans, the Warriors of Arapahoe, Colorado.
Midget Major AA: Alliance 4, Les Aigles 2: The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead in their first game of the Can/Am Tournament in Montreal on Friday morning, but the French Canadian "Eagles" battled back to make it 2-2 in the 3rd period. Alliance recovered, though, and got 2 goals in the final period to get the win in Game 1.
Friday, February 18, 2005 - Quebec International PeeWee Championships
PeeWee AA – Alliance 4, Winnepeg 2: In their final "Friendship" game in Quebec, the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first with a goal at 3:45 remaining in the 1st period to take a 1-0 lead. The North Stars would come back with a score to tie the game at 1-1 at 1:52 remaining in the 1st period. Alliance would take the lead again at 12:10 of the 2nd and then expand on their lead to 3-1 with a 2 on 1 odd man rush with 6:35 remaining in the 2nd. The Stars closed the gap to 3-2 early in the 3rd, put Alliance would capitalize again with a breakaway goal with 5:50 remaining in the game to go up 4-2, and that would end up being the final score.
After a busy 9 days in Quebec, the boys will get to sleep in on Saturday, and then they will all go to an area that features pond hockey and snow skiing for a day of fun before heading back to Dallas on Sunday.
PeeWee AA – St. Louis Jr. Blues AAA 6, Alliance 0: The Bulldogs started the game with a lot of energy and speed, and kept the game scoreless through the first period. It stayed that way until midway into the 2nd period, when the Blues scored an even strength goal with 5:28 remaining in the 2nd for a 1-0 lead. The Blues, who are in 2nd Place of the Mid America AAA League with an 18-2-1 record, would get another goal on a 4 on 4 with 2:03 remaining in the 2nd period to go up 2-0. The Bulldogs continued to battle, but the AAA Blues, who are coached by NHL player Al MacInnis, would prove to be too much for the Bulldogs as they score four 3rd period goals (two on power plays) and beat the Bulldogs 6-0.
Thursday, February 17, 2005 - Quebec International PeeWee Championships
PeeWee AA – Alliance 5, Team England 1: After being eliminated from the Main Draw of the Quebec International Pee-Wee hockey Tournament, the Bulldogs continue to play hockey, this time another “Friendship" game against Team England. They will continue playing on Friday, as they will face the St. Louis Jr. Blues AAA team, coached by NHL St. Louis Blues defenseman Al MacInnis, friend and former teammate of Alliance Assistant Coach Pierre Turgeon.

Upcoming Weekend Tournaments.....
PeeWee A - About as far as you can get from where the Squirts will be and still be on the mainland is where the PeeWee A boys will be, in Southern California, at the California State Games in San Diego. They will be facing teams from Colorado, Arizona, and California during this west coast trip which features an Olympic-like Torch Lighting Ceremony during the opening festivities.
Midget Minor AA - These Bulldogs won't have to go far to get some quality competition, as they will stay right here in Dallas for the Dallas Storm U16 AAA Tournament in Plano. Along with the Dallas Storm, they will face the Atlanta Fire, and the Detroit Trackers. Many of the Alliance boys faced some of these same Atlanta players as Bantams in the Quarter-Finals of the USA Hockey National Championships in 2004, a Bulldog 6-3 win.
Midget Major AA - The Major AA Bulldogs will also find themselves in foreign territory, as they too will be in Canada, in the French Province of Quebec. They will be playing in the Can/Am Tournament in Montreal, not far from our PeeWee AA boys, who will still be in Quebec City for the Quebec International Pee-Wee hockey Tournament.
Wednesday, February 16, 2005 - Quebec International PeeWee Championships
PeeWee AA – New Hampshire Bauer 3, Alliance 1: After falling behind 3-0, the Bulldogs mounted a 3rd period comeback attempt, but were only able to tally the one goal, and were eliminated from the 46th Quebec International Pee-Wee hockey Tournament in their second round game. The Bulldogs will continue to play hockey, though, as they get another "Friendship" game on Thursday at 10:00am EST.
Monday, February 14, 2005 - Quebec International PeeWee Championships
The Bulldogs will next face New Hampshire Bauer, a 5-2 winner over Moose Jaw in the 1st Round on Wednesday at 8:30pm EST. For those desperate for a look at this tournament in action, the Alliance-New Hampshire game can be seen live via the Internet for a fee, click here... The link to the Dallas (Alliance) Match is at the bottom of the page.
In between on Tuesday, the boys from Alliance will get a look at Major Junior Hockey, as they will attend the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL) game between the Québec Remparts and Rimouski Océanic. Canadian teenage hockey sensation Sidney Crosby plays for Rimouski.
Squirt A - Storm 6, Alliance 3: Dogs came out a little cool on this warm Texas night and never warmed up enough to win this NTXHL game. The Storm jumped to a 1-0 lead just 2 minutes and 25 seconds into the first period on an even strength goal. The Bulldogs and Storm battled head to head until the 50 second mark when a short handed goal got past the Alliance defense and the period ended 2-0 in favor of the Storm. Read more here...
Sunday, February 13, 2005 - Texas Tier II State Championships
Alliance Teams Win 3 State Championships!!! Bulldogs Successfully Defend U14, U16, and U18 Titles....
Bantam AA: Alliance 3, Ice Jets 2: The Bulldogs continued their excellent play from the game earlier in the day, took a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period, and hung on to win the State Championship at the U14 Tier II State Tournament in Valley Ranch Sunday afternoon. After the Ice Jets scored late to make it 3-2 Bulldogs, an apparent tying goal was waved off at 8 seconds remaining due to the use of a high stick to knock the puck into the net. The game was intense, and met all expectations of being a high-paced and energetic battle between the 2 emerging rivals. Alliance has thus earned the right to advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Peoria, Arizona (Phoenix) March 9th through 13th.
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 10, Ice Hawks 0: The Bulldogs came ready to play, scoring 5 goals in the 1st period, then doubled it up with 5 more in the 3rd to take home the State Championship in the U16 Tier II State Tournament in Farmers Branch Sunday afternoon. Alliance got goals from 7 different players, 3 power play goals, 1 shorthanded goal, and points from every player on the bench to make it a true team win. The Bulldogs swept through their 4 tournament wins with 30 goals scored and only 3 allowed, and will represent Texas at the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Chandler, Arizona (Phoenix) March 9th through 13th.
Midget Major AA: Alliance 6, Hitmen 2: The Bulldogs played one of their best team games recently, and beat their latest nemesis when it counted big time, and captured the State Championship of the U18 Tier II State Tournament at the Aerodrome in Sugarland Saturday afternoon. Taking a 5-0 lead after 2 periods, the Bulldogs played the 3rd period smartly to bring home the title. They will join the U16 Bulldogs at the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Chandler, Arizona (Phoenix) March 9th through 13th.
All 3 Alliance Teams Earn State Finals...
Bantam AA: Alliance 5, Wild 2: The Bulldogs saved their best game against the boys from Houston for when it counted the most, and earned a spot in the Finals of the U14 Tier II State Tournament in Valley Ranch. Coming into this game, the Bulldogs had only 1 win in 4 tries against the Wild this season, and most thought they would not be able to overcome them to reach the Championship game. Fortunately, it's not what most think, but what the players think, and they definitely played like they expected to win. Their reward is a rematch at 12:45 in Valley Ranch against the Ice Jets for the right to advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championships. The Saturday night game, a 2-1 win for the Jets, has set the stage for what should be a barn-burner Sunday afternoon.
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 5, Stars 1: The Bulldogs took care of business Sunday morning against the Stars, and will play for the State Championship in the U16 Tier II State Tournament in Farmers Branch Sunday afternoon. Alliance will face the Ice Hawks, who won the goal differential tie-breaker between the Stars, Wild, and Hawks. The Bulldogs defeated the Hawks 6-2 on Saturday, but the Hawks have given the boys from Alliance plenty of trouble this season, having scored more goals against the Bulldogs than all other Texoma teams combined. The puck drops at 2:00 for the right to represent Texas at the Rocky Mountain District Championships.
Midget Major AA: Alliance 2, Austin 0: The Bulldogs earned another shutout victory, their 13th of the season, and advanced to the Finals of the U18 Tier II State Tournament in Sugarland Saturday afternoon. They will once again face those Hitmen from Houston, hoping to settle things once and for all with those boys. The two teams battled to a 3-3 in Game 1 of the tournament, and will hit it again at 2:45 this afternoon.
Other Bulldog games Sunday...
PeeWee A - Ice Jets 4, Alliance 0: After trailing 2-0 at the end of the 2nd period, the Bulldogs were hoping to close the gap in the 3rd, but the Ice Jets had ideas of their own, and added 2 more to take home the win in this NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Sunday morning. The Bulldogs won't feel bad for long, as they hit the road for sunny San Diego this next weekend for the California State Games.
The Bulldogs lost to the Quebec Northshore Governors AAA team, another one of the top French Canadian teams from Quebec. Alliance will play their first official tournament game on Monday at 8:30pm EST against the Huskies of the Association de Hockey Mineur Chaudiere-Ouest.
Midget Minor AAA: Shattuck-St. Mary's 5, Alliance 2: The Bulldogs discovered again that penalties will hurt you against top ranked competition, and dropped the final game of this 3-game set to Shattuck-St. Mary’s (SSM) in Faribault, Minnesota Sunday morning. After battling on the penalty kill for most of the game, the Bulldogs could never mount much of a counter attack. Alliance will return home with a respectable 1-1-1 record while in Faribault, fairing better than most other teams venturing into SSM territory.
Saturday, February 12, 2005 - Texas Tier II State Championships Bantam AA: Ice Jets 2, Alliance 1: The Bulldogs threw everything but he kitchen sink at the Ice Jets, but good goaltending and timely defense allowed the Jets to hang on for the win in Game 2 of the U14 Tier II State Tournament in Valley Ranch Saturday night. The game was delayed twice, once for 20 minutes to repair the scoreboard, and once for 10 minutes to replace a broken pane of glass. The Bulldogs now face a tough Houston Wild team in Game 3 Sunday morning, and must win to advance to the Championship game. The Wild tied the Ice Jets 3-3 earlier in the day, and beat Austin 4-1 in their second game. Bantam AA: Alliance 3, Austin 0: The Bulldogs started strong, getting a shutout in their first game of the U14 Tier II State Tournament in Valley Ranch Saturday morning. They will come back for Game 2 this evening at 6:15 against the Ice Jets, who tied the Houston Wild 3-3 earlier in the day.
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 9, Wild 0: The Bulldogs scored early and often, taking a 5-0 lead after one period and coasted to another shutout win in Game 1 of the U16 Tier II State Tournament in Farmers Branch Saturday morning. They will come back for Game 2 this afternoon at 5:00 against the Ice Hawks, who lost to the Jr. Stars 4-1 earlier in the day. Midget Major AA: Alliance 11, Wild 0: The Bulldogs lit the lamp enough to run up the electric bill at the Aerodrome in Game 2 of the U18 Tier II State Tournament in Sugarland Saturday afternoon, and are fortunate they don't have to pay the bill. The Bulldogs dominated from the outset in this one, and will face Austin in Game 3 on Sunday morning. Austin beat the Wild 4-2 on Saturday morning, and were trailing the Hitmen 3-0 at the end of 2 periods Saturday night. Midget Major AA: Alliance 3, Hitmen 3: The top 2 teams in Texoma battled again for the 7th time this season in Game 1 of the U18 Tier II State Tournament at the Aerodrome in Sugarland (Houston) Saturday morning, and nothing was settled again. The Bulldogs will come back for Game 2 this afternoon at 4:15 against the Houston Wild, who lost to Austin 4-2 earlier in the day. Other Bulldog games...
Squirt A - Ice Jets 6, Alliance 2: After battling to a 0-0 tie at the end of the 1st period, the Ice Jets would eventually capture the momentum in this NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Saturday morning. The Bulldogs trailed 3-1 after 2 periods of play, but never quit playing hard, fighting the ice Jets all the way to the finish. Read more here...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 4, Shattuck-St. Mary's 3: The Bulldogs played much better in the night-cap, and handed the 3rd Ranked Shattuck-St. Mary’s (SSM) U16 Team only their 4th loss in 53 games thus far this season in Faribault, Minnesota late Saturday night. The 2 teams fought to a 1-1 tie at the end of the 1st period, but the Bulldogs would go up by 2 at 3-1, and then again at 4-2. SSM would then find themselves in an unfamiliar position of fighting back themselves, making it 4-3 in the 3rd period, and then finishing the game on the power play with an empty net in their own end. Alliance would hold them off on the 2-man advantage for win. The final game of the series will be early Sunday morning.
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 6, Shattuck-St. Mary's 6: The Bulldogs spent too much time in the penalty box and fell behind 5-2, but would continue to battle back, eventually catching up to gain a tie against the 3rd Ranked Shattuck-St. Mary’s (SSM) U16 Team in Faribault, Minnesota on Saturday afternoon. Although out-shooting SSM by a 38-32 margin, the Bulldogs did not play their best and were fortunate to come away with a tie against such a strong competitor. The 2 top 5 ranked teams will battle again later tonight in Game 2 of their 3-game series.
Friday, February 11, 2005 - Quebec International PeeWee Championships PeeWee AA: St. Laurent 3, Alliance 2: In a warm-up to the beginning of the big show, the Bulldogs played it close to the end, but the French Canadians from Montreal pulled one out of the bag with only 3 seconds remaining for the win in a "Friendship" game Friday afternoon. Saturday it's off to some real pond hockey for the Bulldogs, then another Friendship game Sunday before starting the real games on Monday in the 46th Quebec International Pee-Wee hockey Tournament 2005. Friday, February 11, 2005 Last weekend’s Tier II U12 State Tournament was just a glimpse of things to come for this weekend, as no less that 3 more State Tournaments will be held in Texas, as the Tier II U14, U16, and U18 State Champions will be crowned on Sunday afternoon. Starting off with the Bantams, the U14s will be competing at Valley Ranch as hosted by the Alliance Bulldogs, the Midget Minor U16s will be in Farmers Branch hosted by the Dallas Junior Stars, and the U18s will be in Houston, as hosted by the Wild. Alliance will be attempting to defend their 2004 State Championships in each of these tournaments for the right to advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championships in March. For State Tournament schedules and results, click here…
This tournament is billed as the most important minor hockey tournament in the world, grouping young hockey players (11 and 12 years old). Approximately 2,300 young hockey players from 16 countries come to Québec to participate to the "World championships Pee-Wee Hockey" each year.
This Tournament occurs during a period of 11 days
and totalizes crowds of around 200,000 fans every
year. This extraordinary event, very popular, was
founded in 1960 and has never ceased to grow in
importance. The Bulldogs’ first official game in this prestigious event will be on Monday night February 14th at 8:30pm EST against the Huskies of the Association de Hockey Mineur Chaudiere-Ouest. If you can read French, feel free to browse their web site! They will actually start off with an exhibition or "Friendship" game tonight, facing St. Laurent of Montreal. For a tentative itinerary for the boys while in Quebec, click here... The Squirt A team will be coming off a big win last weekend, as they will face the Ice Jets in NTXHL action in Valley Ranch on Saturday, and the PeeWee A Bulldogs will be squaring off against the Ice Jets in a NTXHL contest as well on Sunday in Valley Ranch. The Midget Minor AAA boys will face another tough test this weekend as they travel to Minnesota to face the 3rd Ranked Shattuck-St. Mary’s (SSM) U16 Team. This nationally-recognized boys' hockey team at SSM comes into the 2-game set with an impressive season record of 43-3-5. For more information about SSM, you can download a copy of their 2004-2005 Season Program in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Monday, February 7, 2005

Tier II U12 State Championships
PeeWee AA: Ice Jets 3, Alliance 2: In this Championship Game of the U12 Tier II State Tournament, it would come down to a rematch of that first round barn-burner between these 2 teams to determine the Texas representative to the Tier II U12 Rocky Mountain District Championships in Phoenix next month. With the memory of that last minute comeback by the Ice Jets in Game 1, the Bulldogs wanted to establish that they had gotten over the sting. Read more here...
PeeWee AA: Alliance 9, Austin 1: (Game 3) Alliance needed a win or a tie against Austin to insure a spot in the Championship game and took control early in the game by scoring three first period goals and cruised to a 9-1 victory.
Other Bulldog games...
PeeWee A: Aces 6, Alliance 2: The Bulldogs drop this one to the Texas Aces-White in their fourth NTXHL meeting Sunday at Valley Ranch. The Aces jumped out early in the game scoring 3 even strength goals in the first period, with the first going in at 1:10 into the game. Read more here...

Tier II U12 State Championships
PeeWee AA: Alliance 4, Ice Jets 4: It appeared that Alliance would carry the momentum from a win here into the 2nd round of the U12 Tier II State Tournament, but with the Bulldogs leading 4-2 and only 49 seconds remaining in the game, the Ice Jets had other ideas of their own. The Jets would stun the Bulldogs with 2 goals in the final minute of play to gain a tie in this first round contest. Read more here...
PeeWee AA: Alliance 7, Houston 3: The Bulldogs would rebound from that last period against the Jets and come out against the Hitmen showing they were still a force to be dealt with in this State Tournament. Alliance came out and scored on the first shift 17 seconds into the game to go up 1-0, and then hit paydirt again with 8:44 remaining in the 1st to go up 2-0. Houston would get a late 1st period goal to close the Alliance lead to 2-1 after one period, but the Bulldogs would not allow them to hang close for long. Read more here...
Other Bulldog games...
Squirt A: Alliance 3, Stars 2: There was a delayed start to this NTXHL game at Valley Ranch due to a broken glass. After several unsuccessful attempts to repair the glass, the Bantam Jr. Stars were kind enough to trade rinks, and the game got underway. The Stars came out hot and scored an even strength goal at 10:55 on a rebound off a shot from the blue line. They would increase their lead on the man advantage just a couple of minutes later, but the Bulldogs played like their mascot name and fought back in this contest. Read more here...
PeeWee A: Alliance 3, Stars 2: The Bulldogs out shined the Junior Stars in their fourth NTXHL meeting Saturday at Farmers Branch. The Bulldogs looked to find their winning ways against a team that always has made for close competitive games and this meeting would be no different. Read more here...

Friday, February 4, 2005
Midget Major AA: Alliance 3, Ice Hawks 0: The Bulldogs entered their last regular season game of the Texoma season with a firm grip on second place. The game was another blue collar effort. The Bulldogs opened the scoring 12:48 into the first period with a short handed breakaway shot that beat the Ice Hawk goalie between the pads. Their were a number of minor penalties, however, not many power play opportunities. Read more here...

Another busy weekend for the Bulldogs, as 6 of the 8 teams are in game action, all big games, but none bigger than those the PeeWee AA team will play in the Tier II U12 State Championships at the StarCenter in Euless. Winner of the State Championship will advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Phoenix March 9-13.
In other games, the Squirt A team will face the Stars in NTXHL action on Saturday in Valley Ranch, and the PeeWee A team will have 2 NTXHL contests - Stars on Saturday in Farmers Branch and the Aces on Sunday in Valley Ranch.
The Bantam AA team will play their final league games in a 3-game Texoma series in Plano, facing Lafayette on Saturday, and coming back on Sunday to face DJHA and the Ice Jets. The Bulldogs are currently in 4th Place, but are sitting only 1 point behind DJHA, and only 2 points behind OKC for 2nd Place with the Sooners having already completed their schedule.
The Midget Minor AA team will also play their final league games in a 3-game Texoma series in Austin, facing the Ice Hawks and Hitmen on Saturday night, and finishing with the Wild on Sunday. The Bulldogs are in 1st Place with a 5-point lead over the 2nd Place Wild, so a win this weekend will give Alliance the Regular Season Championship.
The Midget Major AA will actually be the first Bulldogs to see action, as they have another "Friday Night Lights" edition of Texoma hockey, this time facing the Ice Hawks in Valley Ranch. Regardless of their impressive 12-2-1 record, the Bulldogs will finish the regular season in 2nd Place behind the Houston Hitmen.
Tuesday, February 1, 2005
PeeWee AA: Alliance 3, Stars Select 2: The Bulldogs played the Dallas Junior Stars/Selects tonight in Valley Ranch for the right to be the Dallas representative for the U12 Tier II State Tournament that takes place this weekend. In a really tight one that was scoreless after 2 periods of play, the Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 late in the game and appeared to be facing elimination from the State Tournament, when they caught fire and scored 2 goals in less than a minute and went on to advance to the State Championships. Read more here...
Midget Minor AA: Alliance 10, DJHA 1: The Bulldogs scored early and often and cruised to this unusual Tuesday night Texoma affair at the StarCenter in Frisco. Alliance extended their league leading record to 12-1-0, and have a 5-point lead over 2nd Place Houston Wild with 3 games to go in the regular season for each team. Both teams will finish up this weekend with 3 games a piece in Austin, facing each other in their final game on Sunday morning. The Bulldogs also won their 30th game of the season (30-6-1 overall). They will hit the ice again after that for the State Tournament in Farmers Branch February 12-13.

1st 2nd 3rd Total Shots - 1st 2nd 3rd Total Alliance 2 4 6 12 13 19 11 43 Victory Honda 0 0 0 0 10 3 5 18
The Bulldogs came out flying and never stopped in this one, as the best game they played in the tournament came at the right time, and the boys from Victory Honda were the unfortunate victims. Alliance went undefeated at 5-0, and captured their 4th Tournament Championship of the season to go along with 2 other runner-up finishes in seven total tournaments thus far. The outcome should help them at least retain their current ranking of 5th in the nation among U16 Tier I AAA teams, extending their record to an impressive 34-6-3 for the season. Read more about the Championship game here...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 6, San Jose 3: The Bulldogs started strong in this one, leading 1-0 after the 1st period, and 4-2 after the 2nd. They then pulled away in the 3rd period with 2 goals after the Sharks pulled to within 1 at 4-3 just 22 seconds into the final frame, and earned a spot in the Championship game of the Dallas Cup 2005 at 2:00 in Farmers Branch. They will face Victory Honda, the other Semi-Final winner over the Colorado Thunderbirds 4-0. Read more on the Bulldog Semi-Final win here...
In other Alliance action...
Squirt A - Ice Jets 7, Alliance 1: In a tough ending to a tough weekend, the Bulldogs dropped this one at Valley Ranch on Sunday afternoon. They fell behind just over 2 minutes into the 1st period and it was downhill from there, trailing at the end of one period 4-0, and at the end of two periods 7-0. The Bulldogs finished with a win of the 3rd period by holding the Jets scoreless and ruining their shut-out bid with a late goal in the final frame. They have 2 more NTXHL games to recover the momentum before they head off to London, Ontario, Canada for the 2005 Oakridge Classic February 18th through 20th.
Squirt A - DMHA 4, Alliance 1: In their second tough test of the weekend, the Bulldogs went up against league leading DMHA Sunday morning at Addison Square Garden. The Titans wasted no time, as they went on the power play 33 seconds into the game, and 1 minute later had a 5 on 3 for 49 seconds. Read more here...
PeeWee A - Lone Star Wolves 5, Alliance 1: Bulldogs get “bit” by the Wolves in their third NTXHL meeting Sunday in Grapevine. This game looked to be a “dog fight” against the first place Wolves given the two earlier NTXHL games played this season that ended in a close one goal win by the Wolves, and a 2-2 tie in the second meeting. Read more here...
Midget Major AA - Alliance 7, Texas Aces 0: The Bulldogs extended their Texoma record to 12-2-1 and remain firmly in 2nd Place of the Midget Major AA Division with only 1 regular season game remaining in league play. They scored early and often in this one, and held the Aces scoreless for their 10th shutout of the season, and their 5th in the last 8 games. Read more here..
Saturday, January 29, 2005 - Dallas Cup
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 5, Colorado 2: The Bulldogs faced their toughest challenge thus far in the Dallas Cup 2005 at Farmers Branch Saturday morning against the Thunderbirds. But after a slow start and trailing 2-1 at the end of the 1st period, Alliance overtook the Thunderbirds with 4 unanswered goals the rest of the way and gained a spot in the Semi-Finals by way of an undefeated 3-0 record in the preliminary rounds. Read more here...
In other Alliance action...
Squirt A - LS Wolves 8, Alliance 1: The Alliance Squirt team started their 3-game weekend on a down note, again facing one of the better teams in the Squirt Division of the NTXHL, this time at Polar Ice in Grapevine very early Saturday morning. Facing a tough opponent already is challenge enough, but putting them on the power play too often proved to be too much to overcome as the Bulldogs fell behind early and could never muster any momentum in this one.
PeeWee A - Ice Jets 7, Alliance 1: The Alliance PeeWee team ran into a tough Ice Jets team on Saturday night in Valley Ranch and the result was not good, as the Jets jumped out early with 3 quick goals in the 1st period and coasted to the NTXHL PeeWee Gold Division win. More information to follow on this game on Sunday evening, after their next game on Sunday morning with the Lone Star Wolves at Polar Ice in Grapevine at 10:50am. Read more here...
Bantam AAA - Alliance 4, Phoenix Firebirds 1: The nightcap of this rare double-header was a little more competitive, but in the end, the Bulldogs prevailed again. The goal scoring was a little more spread out, as Alliance scored 1 goal in each of the first 2 periods, and then again in the 3rd for a 3-0 lead until the final minute of play. With only 30 seconds remaining, Phoenix avoided a shutout with their only goal, but the Bulldogs responded with only 7 seconds remaining to make it a 3-goal margin again to end it. The Firebirds mustered a few more shots this time, getting 17 to the Bulldogs 35. Alliance will play the Valley of the Sun (VOSHA) Mustangs of Arizona in a 2-game set on Sunday before returning home to Dallas.
Bantam AAA - Alliance 7, Phoenix Firebirds 1: The game started slow and after a scoreless 1st period, it looked like it might be a tight one, but the Bulldogs broke it open in the 2nd frame with 4 goals and cruised to an easy win in this Friendship Series at the Aerodrome in Sugarland near Houston. Alliance dominated the shots on goal as well, getting 27 of their 36 total shots in the final 2 periods, while holding the Firebirds to only 9 shots the entire game.
Friday, January 28, 2005 - Dallas Cup
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 5, Phoenix 4: The Bulldogs came out on top in this one, but it wasn’t pretty as they trailed 1-0 less than 2 minutes into the game, could not put the Firebirds away, and hung on despite allowing 2 late power play goals in their 2nd game of the day in the Dallas Cup 2005 in Valley Ranch. Read more here...
Midget Minor AAA: Alliance 7, Omaha 1: The Bulldogs controlled this one from the start and cruised to the win in the 1st Round in the U16 Division of the Dallas Cup 2005. Out-shooting the Energy 16 to 2 in the 1st period, Alliance scored their first goal at the 9:52 mark on a mini-breakaway that was nicely slid between the goalies’ pads for a 1-0 lead. Bantam AA - Alliance 5, Storm 0: The Alliance Bantam AA team will played a rare Monday night tilt tonight, as they faced the Dallas Storm in Texoma action in Frisco. Squirt A - Alliance 1, DMHA 1: The Alliance Squirt team finished their weekend, once again facing one of the top 2 teams in the Squirt Division of the NTXHL, this time it was the DMHA Titans in Valley Ranch. The Bulldogs came out feisty in the first period scoring first early in the game to take the 1-0 lead at the 12:11 mark. The shots on goal were even in the 1st period at 6 to 6, but Alliance carried the lead into the 2nd frame. Read more here...
PeeWee AA - Alliance 2, Houston Aeros 2: The Alliance AA team did not have much time to regroup from the Gator loss, as they had to hit the ice shortly thereafter to face the other team close behind them in the PeeWee AA Division of the Texoma League. Read more here...
PeeWee AA - Lafayette 3, Alliance 0: Coming fresh off a 3-0 shutout of the DJHA Penguins on Saturday, the Bulldogs were facing the next two teams in the PeeWee AA Division of the Texoma League behind them, first the Lafayette Jr. Ice Gators at 6:30 am on Sunday. Not much to say about the game except the Gators really wanted to beat Alliance, to allow them to narrow the gap separating them in the standings. The Gators scored a goal each period and reversed the shutout on the 'Dogs to gain 2 points on Alliance in the Division race for 1st place.
Midget Major AA - Alliance 5, Wild 1: The final game of this 2-game Texoma set started with 19 Bulldogs in uniform on the home side and only 11 Wild on the visitors, as the Wild were literally outmanned. To make matters even worse, the Wild were determined to play a physical game, and they would suffer the consequences as a result. The Bulldogs lit the lamp just 1 1/2 minutes into the game on their first of several power play opportunities to take an early 1-0 lead. Read more here...

Squirt A - Storm 5, Alliance 1: The Alliance Squirt team started their weekend against one of the top 2 teams in the Squirt Division of the NTXHL, facing the Dallas Storm on Saturday in Valley Ranch. Starting late, without a scoreboard, and sporting a new 3rd look with dark socks and light sweaters, the Bulldogs were looking good in the 1st period. But then things went crazy in the last minute of the 1st period when the score changed 3 times in the span of 49 seconds. Read more here...
PeeWee A -
Aces 4, Alliance 1:
Third time's NOT the charm for these Bulldogs as their hopes to finally
beat the Aces were dashed in their third meeting in a NTXHL game at Valley

fourth in the

standings.

Midget Major AA - Alliance 7, Wild 0: The Bulldogs were facing the Wild for the first time this season, and with neither team knowing what to expect, the game started with both teams playing cautiously. The Bulldogs took control and the lead at the 9:30 mark of the first period on a 2 on 1 breakaway. The first period ended 1-0, but the action and the scoreboard would heat up in the 2nd period when the Bulldogs would take control. Read more here...

The Bulldogs Midget Minor AA team had the unique opportunity to play a different type of opponent Wednesday night, as they faced a team from Russia in Valley Ranch, Team Belgorod. This is the same team that the Bantam AAA team defeated in the Championship of the Texas Star Classic last weekend.
It was not the sharpest performance by the Bulldogs, but they came out on top by a score of 7-6 in the exhibition. For more information about Belgorod, click HERE.

Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament
Squirt A - Northern Colorado 4, Alliance 1: The Bulldogs ran into a tough Grizzlies team, and had their tournament ended on Sunday. It was a good outing for Alliance though, as they went 2-2 on the trip, and they will use their extra time on Monday for some fun in Colorado, including some pond hockey like we don't see here in Texas.
Squirt A - Alliance 4, Littleton 1: The Squirt A team played one of their best games thus far, and raced past the Hawks of Littleton in this tough division of the Arvada MLK Holiday Tournament. Using timely goal scoring and another excellent net-minding effort, the Bulldogs ran their record to 2-1 in Colorado.
PeeWee A -
Boulder 2, Alliance 1:
A lot was riding on this game as it truly was a
semi-final game where a win and or points equaled a
chance to play in the Championship game
of the
Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament
on Monday.
PeeWee AA - Alliance 2, Colorado 1: The Bulldogs got their first win of the tournament in exciting fashion, but it wasn't enough to get them into the finals of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament, as they will face the Twin Bridges Lightning of St. Louis again on Monday for 3rd Place in the Red Division. After a scoreless 1st period, the Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 late in the 2nd, but wouldn't let the period end with them behind, so they tied it up with just over a minute remaining in the period. The game would stay 1-1 for what appeared to be the rest of the game, until Alliance stunned the Eagles with the game winning goal with only 25 seconds to go.
Bantam AAA - Alliance 6, Boulder MMinor AA 2: The Bulldogs jumped up early in this one, taking a 3-0 lead in the 1st period and never looking back as they earned a spot in the Midget Minor AA Championship Game of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament. The Bulldogs are 3-0 for the tourney, and will face Team Belgorod, also undefeated at 3-0 as well, in the finals at 8:30 am in Plano. Alliance added 2 more goals in the 2nd period, one on the power play, and topped of the day with a short-hander in the 3rd period to end the scoring. It was actually a low shot game, with the Bulldogs winning that battle also at 16 to 12.

Bantam AA - Jr. Mighty Ducks 5, Alliance 3 Bantam AA - California Northstars 4, Alliance 3
Midget Minor AA - Ice Jets AAA 4, Alliance 1: The Alliance Minor AA faced a AAA opponent for the second day in a row, and this time it did not turn out as good as the first. The pace of the play was once again high tempo, and this time Alliance's habit of starting slow was more than they could overcome against an aggressive and quick team at the Ice Training Center on Sunday. Read more here…
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 7, Yorba Linda 0: The Bulldogs would not take this one lightly, as seeding for the semi-finals was on the line. They took care of business easily, and will advance to the Semi-Finals of the LA Jr. Kings Tournament as the No. 2 Seed on Monday morning. They will face the Host LA Jr. Kings again for the right to face the winner of the California Wave-LA Hockey Club game in the Championship game Monday at 2:00 pm PST.
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 6, LA Jr. Kings 3: Playing without 2 of their forwards due to injury, the Bulldogs made due, and came away with a nice 6-3 win over the host team in the 3rd round of the LA Jr. Kings Tournament. Read more here…
Midget Major AA - Alliance 4, Storm Minor AAA 4: It didn't look good early in this one, as the Storm came out strong with plenty of help from the Bulldogs taking penalties, but Alliance rallied with 3 goals in the 3rd period to take the what appeared to be the winning lead. But it ain't over until it's over, and the Storm had a rally of their own to complete in this highly entertaining game at the Ice Training Center in Richardson on Sunday morning. Read more here...

Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament
Squirt A - Alliance 5, Denver 2: The Squirts were ready to go in their first tournament away from the friendly confines of the DFW area, as they ventured into the cold of the Rocky Mountains and Arvada, Colorado near Denver. They showed the local boys a thing or two, and came away with an impressive win in the 1st Round of the Arvada MLK Holiday Tournament. Read more here…
PeeWee A - Alliance 4, Florida Sharpshooters 0: The PeeWee A team certainly likes to get their goals in bunches and in short time frames, as they did it again by scoring 3 goals in just over 2 minutes in the 1st period and got their 2nd straight 4-0 shutout in the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Euless. Read more here…
PeeWee A - Alliance 4, Arapahoe 0: The Bulldogs started slow, but when they got a smell of the net, they pounced, as they scored 3 goals in just 51 seconds during the 2nd period to break open a tight one in the 1st Round of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Valley Ranch. Read more here…
PeeWee AA - Alliance 1, Twin Bridges 1: The Alliance PeeWee AA team faced another tough opponent this afternoon at Valley Ranch, and almost came away with the victory, but had to settle for the tie as Twin Bridges got a power play goal to even it up in the 3rd period. Read more here…

Bantam AAA - Alliance 6, Littleton MMinor AA 2: Playing up an age level is supposed to be tough, but the Bulldogs appeared to be ready for the challenge and then some. Facing a Midget Minor AA team with some players as much as 3 years older, Alliance jumped on the Hawks early and never let up in this 1st Round victory in the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Plano. Read more here…
Other Tournaments or Games...
Bantam AA - Las Vegas 7, Alliance 0: The Bulldogs ran into a buzz-saw opponent today, and were not ready for it as they dropped this one in uncharacteristic fashion by getting shutout by the Outlaws. Nothing went right for Alliance, and they hope to recover with a better showing in the later game today against the Northstars.
Midget Minor AA - Alliance 6, Dallas Storm AAA 3: The Alliance Minor AA started slow again as has been their habit recently, but recovered in time to score 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period of this highly competitive contest at the Ice Training Center in Richardson. Read more here…
Midget Minor AAA - Alliance 8, LA Hockey Club AAA 0: Good news and bad news. The good new is obvious, as the Bulldogs cruised to an impressive shutout win, but the victory came with a price. Alliance lost 2 forwards to what appear to be fairly serious shoulder injuries, along with a possible concussion. The game was secondary, as news on the condition of the hurt players will be anticipated with baited breath. More information will be provided as it is received.
Midget Minor AAA - Calif. Wave AAA 7, Alliance 5: Facing another Top 5 Nationally Ranked opponent is tough enough, but after a month layoff and a 3 hour flight, it was even more difficult. The Bulldogs were up to the challenge, though, and gave the Wave everything they wanted, pushing them into the 3rd period with the game tied before falling late. Read more here…

Midget Major AA - Alliance 4, Ice Hawks 0: The Bulldogs scored twice in each of the first 2 periods, and that was more than enough for them to get the shutout win over the Dallas Ice Hawks in a rare Friday night Texoma tilt at Valley Ranch. Alliance jumped on the Hawks early and often, and outshot them 12 to 3 in the opening frame, with one of the goals being a nice shorthanded goal. The Bulldogs put the game away in the 2nd period with 2 more goals, even while only matching the Hawks on shots at 11 each. The 3rd period was fairly even, with no scoring and 6 shots for each team, to make the final 4-0 and the shots 29 to 20 in favor of Alliance.
